■  Passenger Information Systems  /  Coach & Interurban

Next stop is compliance.

The Xcellence AirLine 730 is a purpose-built visual display for coach and interurban operators — giving every passenger a clear, high-contrast view of route and next-stop information, and every operator a straightforward route to the Public Service Vehicles (Accessible Information) Regulations 2023.

AIR 2023 & PSVAR

What AIR 2023 asks of your fleet.

REG. 7

Identify the route, number and direction of travel passengers are on.

REG. 8–9

Announce upcoming stopping places and confirm the vehicle's final stop.

REG. 12

Deliver that information in both audible and visual form — one channel alone is not enough.

REG. 13–14

Meet set standards for volume, contrast and character height so information is genuinely legible.

Passenger information regulations extend beyond buses: interurban and rail-replacement coaches fall within scope wherever they run local, scheduled services.

The DVSA enforces AIR 2023 alongside PSVAR — non-compliant vehicles risk enforcement action and reputational cost.

01  Bulkhead mount

Direct-fix bracket for the front header panel above the windscreen — the standard position, and the best sightline for the whole saloon.

  • Flush, low-profile carrier at full 65mm depth
  • Fixes through the existing 200×100mm pattern
  • Best for a flat or gently curved front header
Diagram of the pole or stanchion mount

02  Pole / stanchion mount

A hinged clamp bracket for grab poles and vertical stanchions — suited to mixed-floor coaches and vehicles without a usable header panel.

  • Split clamp collar sized to the pole diameter
  • Standoff arm keeps the display clear for sightlines
  • Best where headroom is already used by cameras/mirrors

03  Roof / luggage-rack mount

A suspended drop-arm bracket that fixes to the roof rail or luggage-rack lip — for coaches where the header is too shallow or already occupied.

  • Adjustable drop length and tilt, set on install
  • Keeps the display clear of luggage and door sightlines
  • Best for double-deck and high-floor coaches
